The city also performed poorly in “Cost of Ownership & Maintenance," ranking 93rd in a category that included the price of a fresh car, average gas prices, average gross annual insurance premiums, average parking rates and auto maintenance costs.

However, metropolis performed well in the “Usage of Vehicles & Maintenance” and “Safeness" categories, ranking third and 16th, respectively.

Based on the examine, the best five cities to drive in are: Raleigh, N.C. (1); Orlando, Fla. (2); Lincoln, Nev. (3); Tampa, Fla. (4); Winston-Salem, N.C. (5). And, based on the study, the worst five cities to operate a vehicle are: Detroit, Mich. (50); Oakland, Calif. (49); Philadelphia, Pa. (48); SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, Calif. (47); Newark, N.J. (46).

Similarly to NEW YORK, the state of New York performed terribly in the “Cost of Ownership & Maintenance” and “Traffic & Infrastructure" categories, ranking 47th and 46th, respectively.

Also like the town, the talk about of NY performed well in the “Protection” and “Access to Vehicles & Maintenance” categories, ranking second and fourth, respectively.
